Taiwan Business Visa
The Taiwan Business Visa is officially issued as a “Visitor Visa for Business Purpose” by the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It is intended for foreign nationals travelling to Taiwan for business meetings, negotiations, trade fairs, exhibitions, or fact-finding missions that do not involve formal employment with a Taiwan-based employer. Applications from India are submitted at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC), Taiwan’s representative office in India. Indian nationals holding a valid US, Canada, UK, Schengen, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, or South Korea visa or permanent residence may qualify for the free 14-day Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) instead of applying for a Business Visa. As with all Taiwan visa categories, the decision to approve a Business Visa application rests solely with the Bureau of Consular Affairs or the relevant TECC office.
Eligibility
- Holds a valid passport with at least 6 months’ remaining validity beyond the intended date of entry into Taiwan
- Travelling to Taiwan for business meetings, negotiations, trade fairs, or exhibitions, without local remuneration
- Not eligible for, or choosing not to use, the TAC or eVisa exemption routes
- Able to demonstrate sufficient funds to cover the visit
- Has an invitation letter or supporting documentation from the Taiwan host company
- Has a letter from their own employer confirming the business purpose of travel
Government Visa Fees
| Fee Type | Government Fee (for Indian applicants) |
| Single Entry Visitor Visa | ₹4,200 (Express service: ₹6,300) |
| Multiple Entry Visitor Visa | ₹8,400 (Express service: ₹12,600) |
Fees are payable by demand draft in favour of the relevant TECC office; cash, cheque, and online payment are not accepted. Fees for applications made overseas in other countries may differ; BOCA’s standard schedule quotes US$50 for a single entry and US$100 for a multiple entry Visitor Visa made outside Taiwan. Information may vary depending on individual circumstances.
Processing Time
According to guidance published by Taiwan’s overseas missions, standard Visitor Visa processing for Indian applicants generally takes around 5 to 7 working days from submission at the TECC. An express service is available for an additional fee, which can reduce processing to around 2 to 3 working days. Processing speed depends on the completeness of the business invitation and supporting documents, as well as workload at the relevant TECC office. Applicants attending a specific scheduled meeting or trade fair are advised to apply as soon as their dates are confirmed.
