Peru Diplomatic & Official Visa
The Peru Diplomatic & Official Visa covers the “Diplomática,” “Consular,” and “Oficial” migratory qualities recognised under Decreto Legislativo N° 1350 (Ley de Migraciones). These categories apply to foreign nationals whom the Peruvian State, through the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, RREE), formally recognises as diplomatic agents, accredited consular officials, or official government representatives. Unlike standard visa categories such as Tourist or Business visas, Diplomatic, Consular, and Official qualities are granted exclusively by RREE, generally through diplomatic channels such as a note verbale from the sending government or international organisation, rather than through the standard consular visa application process used by private travellers. The Official category carries a permanence period of up to 365 days as set by RREE, while the permanence period for the Diplomatic and Consular categories is likewise established directly by the Ministry, and all three permit multiple entries. As with every Peru migratory quality, the decision to grant Diplomatic, Consular, or Official status rests solely with RREE.

- Is a diplomatic agent, consular officer, or official government representative formally accredited to the Peruvian State
- Is nominated or requested through official diplomatic channels (typically a note verbale from the sending government, embassy, or recognised international organisation)
- Holds a diplomatic, official, or service passport, as applicable to the accreditation
- Is travelling in an official capacity recognised under the applicable international treaties, conventions, or bilateral/multilateral agreements to which Peru is a party
- Eligible accompanying family members may be included under the same accreditation, where recognised by RREE
