Bahrain Tourist Visa
The Bahrain Tourist Visa is an electronic Bahrain Visa issued by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) for travellers visiting for holidays, sightseeing, or general leisure purposes. Indian nationals can apply for this visa entirely online through the official eVisa portal, or, if they hold a valid visit visa to the UAE, UK, USA, Saudi Arabia, or a Schengen country, they may instead be eligible for a Visa on Arrival at Bahrain International Airport. The Tourist Visa is available in three durations: a 14-day single-entry visa, a 3-month multiple-entry visa allowing stays of up to 30 days per visit, and a 1-year multiple-entry visa allowing stays of up to 90 days per visit. This visa does not permit any form of paid work. Approval is decided solely by Bahrain’s General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
Eligibility
To apply for a Bahrain Tourist Visa, applicants generally must:
- Be travelling to Bahrain for tourism, sightseeing, leisure, or holiday purposes.
- Hold a passport with sufficient validity for the intended period of stay.
- Be able to provide confirmed accommodation details and return or onward travel arrangements.
- Demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover the expenses of the visit.
- Hold all required supporting documents as prescribed by the Bahraini immigration authorities.
- Meet the applicable health, security, and immigration requirements prescribed by the Bahraini authorities.
The validity, number of entries, and permitted duration of stay for a Bahrain Tourist Visa are determined by the Bahraini immigration authorities based on the applicant’s nationality, travel purpose, and supporting documentation.

Processing Time
Processing time for the Bahrain Tourist eVisa typically takes 3 to 5 working days for a complete application submitted through the official portal. There is no expedited or priority processing service offered by the official eVisa system, regardless of any additional fee a third-party website may claim to charge for faster turnaround. Applicants using the Visa on Arrival option, where eligible, are processed within 15 to 20 minutes at the airport. Given the standard processing window, applicants should apply well ahead of their travel date and avoid relying on last-minute submissions.
