Bahrain eVisa
The Bahrain eVisa is the official electronic Bahrain Visa system operated by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), allowing applicants from more than 200 countries to apply for entry online before travelling, without visiting an embassy or consulate. The eVisa platform covers multiple purposes of travel, including tourism, business, and family visits, each available in three standard durations: a 14-day single-entry visa, a 3-month multiple-entry visa (up to 30 days per visit), and a 1-year multiple-entry visa (up to 90 days per visit). Once approved, applicants receive an eVisa PIN by email; no physical stamp or sticker is issued, and the PIN along with the passport is all that’s needed at the airport. The only official platform for this process is evisa.gov.bh; no other website is authorised to process Bahrain visas on the government’s behalf. Approval is decided solely by Bahrain’s General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
Eligibility
To apply for a Bahrain eVisa, applicants generally must:
- Be a citizen of a country eligible for Bahrain’s eVisa program.
- Be travelling to Bahrain for tourism, business, or other approved short-term purposes.
- Hold a passport with sufficient validity for the intended period of stay.
- Be able to provide confirmed accommodation details and return or onward travel arrangements.
- Demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover the expenses of the visit.
- Meet the applicable health, security, and immigration requirements prescribed by the Bahraini authorities.
- The type of Bahrain eVisa, its validity, number of entries, and permitted duration of stay are determined by the Bahraini immigration authorities based on the applicant’s nationality and purpose of travel.
Government Visa Fees
| Visa Duration | Government Fee (BHD) |
| 14-Day Single-Entry | BHD 9 |
| 3-Month Multiple-Entry (up to 30 days/visit) | BHD 16 |
| 1-Year Multiple-Entry (up to 90 days/visit) | BHD 44 |
Fees are broadly consistent across the tourist, business, and family eVisa purposes, though minor variations can apply depending on the specific category. Fees are payable online at the time of application and are generally non-refundable, even if the application is refused. Exchange rates fluctuate, so INR values are approximate. Information may vary depending on individual circumstances; confirm the current fee at evisa.gov.bh.
Processing Time
Processing time for the Bahrain eVisa typically takes 3 to 5 working days for a complete application, regardless of the purpose of travel or visa duration selected. The official platform does not offer any expedited or priority processing option; applicants should be cautious of any third-party website claiming to offer faster turnaround for an additional fee, since these are not affiliated with the Bahraini government. Applicants should apply well in advance of their travel date and monitor their email, including spam folders, for the approval notification and PIN.
