- Applicant must hold a valid passport with sufficient remaining validity.
- Immediate family members (spouses) of a Serbian citizen are exempt from proof of financial means and health insurance.
- Spouses of a foreign sponsor generally must still demonstrate financial means and health insurance, unless the sponsor holds a Unified/Single Permit, in which case the spouse may be entitled to work from the date their temporary residence is approved.
- Applicants must not have a record of prior marriages of convenience connected to obtaining a residence permit.
