Serbia Business Visa
A Serbia Business Visa is a short-stay visa (Visa C), issued for business trips such as meetings, negotiations, or conferences. Serbia’s Law on Foreigners does not treat business travel as a legally separate visa category — it falls under the same Visa C used for tourism and private visits, distinguished by the stated business purpose and supported by documentation from the applicant’s employer and the host company in Serbia.
Visa C authorises a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period and does not permit the holder to take up employment or be paid by a Serbian entity. Foreign nationals intending to actually work for a Serbian employer, or establish and invest in a business, require a Visa D (long-stay visa) combined with a temporary residence permit (privremeni boravak) issued by the Ministry of Interior (MUP) — for example, under the Unified/Single Permit for employment, or on entrepreneurial/investment grounds.
Applications are submitted at a Serbian embassy or consulate, or online via welcometoserbia.gov.rs. Approval remains solely at the discretion of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- Applicant must demonstrate sufficient funds and intent to leave before the visa expires.
- For those intending to work for or establish a business in Serbia rather than visit short-term, a Visa D combined with a temporary residence permit is the correct route instead.

For applicants pursuing the Visa D and temporary residence route to work for or establish a business in Serbia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises applying at least three months before the intended date of entry, and the subsequent temporary residence application with MUP has been reported to take approximately 30 to 60 days depending on case complexity and workload. Applicants pursuing either route should apply as early as possible and avoid finalising business commitments in Serbia until the visa/permit is confirmed.
