Vietnam eVisa

The Vietnam eVisa is an electronic visa issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, under the Ministry of Public Security, through the official National Portal on Immigration. According to the portal, an eVisa is one of the visa types issued to foreigners via an electronic system, valid for a maximum of 90 days, for either single or multiple entry. Foreigners currently outside Vietnam can apply personally for an eVisa, or have a requesting agency or organisation apply on their behalf; the eVisa is not available to foreigners who are already temporary residents inside Vietnam. The eVisa can be used for a range of purposes, including tourism, business, and visiting family or friends, and is accepted at Vietnam’s approved international checkpoints. As with all Vietnam Visa categories, the final decision on approval rests solely with the Vietnam Immigration Department.

Eligibility

Based on the official National Portal on Immigration, applicants for a Vietnam eVisa must generally:

  • Be a foreign national currently outside Vietnam.
  • Hold a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended entry date.
