Philippines Visitor Visa (Family & Friends Visit)
The Philippines Visitor Visa covers travel to visit relatives or friends, and falls under the same Section 9(a) Temporary Visitor’s Visa category used for tourism. Since 8 June 2025, Indian nationals can enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 14 days, a privilege that covers general tourism-related visits including seeing family and friends, provided the standard entry conditions are met. Indian nationals who additionally hold a valid, current visa or residence permit from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, a Schengen country, Singapore, or the United Kingdom are eligible for an extended visa-free stay of up to 30 days. Travellers who do not qualify for visa-free entry, or who intend to stay longer with family, should apply for the standard 9(a) visa in advance. As with every Philippines Visa category, the final decision on admission rests solely with the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Eligibility
You may visit family or friends in the Philippines if:
- You are travelling for a personal/social visit and meet the general tourism-related visa-free criteria (for eligible Indian nationals).
- Your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay.
- You have confirmed accommodation (with your host, or a hotel booking) and a return or onward ticket.
- You can demonstrate proof of financial capacity.
- You have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration.

Applicants are advised to apply at least 2 to 4 weeks before their planned travel date.
