Lithuania Tourist Visa (Schengen Tourist Visa)
The Lithuania Tourist Visa is a Schengen short-stay Category C visa that allows foreign nationals to travel to Lithuania for tourism and sightseeing purposes. As Lithuania is part of the Schengen area, this visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen area, provided Lithuania is the applicant’s main destination or first point of entry. Applications are submitted through the Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS) or at the relevant Lithuanian Diplomatic Mission, Consular Post, or authorized Visa Application Centre such as VFS Global. A Schengen visa is strictly a visitor’s visa and does not grant the right to work or reside in Lithuania or any other Schengen country. As with all Lithuania visa categories, the decision to approve or refuse a Tourist Visa application rests solely with the competent Lithuanian Diplomatic Mission or the Migration Department, based on the documentation submitted.

Lithuania Tourist Visa Processing Time
According to the official Migration Department and consular guidance, Schengen visa applications are generally decided within 15 calendar days from the date of submission. This period may be extended up to 30 calendar days, and on an exceptional basis, up to 60 calendar days, where further scrutiny of the application is required. Processing speed depends on the completeness of the application, verification of travel and financial documents, and application volumes at the relevant Mission or Visa Centre. Applicants are advised to apply well ahead of their intended travel date and to avoid booking non-refundable travel arrangements until the visa decision is confirmed.
