Croatia Tourist Visa (Schengen Tourist Visa)
The Croatia Tourist Visa is a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) that allows travellers to visit Croatia for sightseeing, holidays, or leisure. Croatia joined the Schengen Area on 1 January 2023, so the visa now permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area, not just Croatia. Applications are submitted at the Croatian embassy, consulate, or an authorised visa application centre — in India, for example, applications are accepted through VFS Centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. As with every Croatia Visa category, the final decision on approval rests solely with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MVEP) or the relevant consular post.
Eligibility
You may apply for a Croatia Tourist Visa if:
- You intend to visit Croatia purely for tourism, sightseeing, or leisure.
- Your stay will not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period.
- Croatia is your main destination, or your first point of entry if travelling to multiple Schengen countries.
- You can demonstrate sufficient financial means, confirmed accommodation, and an intention to return to your home country.
- Your passport was issued within the last 10 years and remains valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from Croatia.

Applications can be submitted up to six months before travel, and applicants are advised to book an appointment well in advance, particularly during peak travel seasons.
