Turkey eVisa
The Turkey eVisa is an official online travel authorisation issued by the Republic of Turkey, launched in April 2019 to streamline entry for eligible foreign nationals travelling for tourism or short business visits. It is applied for entirely online at the official portal, evisa.gov.tr, without needing to visit an embassy or consulate. Not every nationality qualifies for the e-Visa directly — for travellers such as Indian nationals, eligibility depends on also holding a valid visa or residence permit from the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Ireland. Travellers who do not meet this condition must apply for the standard sticker visa through a Turkish embassy, consulate, or authorised visa application centre instead. As with every Turkey Visa category, the final decision on approval and admission rests solely with Turkish immigration authorities.
Eligibility
You may apply for the Turkey eVisa if:
- Your nationality is on the list of countries eligible for the e-Visa system, or (for nationalities like India that are not directly eligible) you hold a valid visa or residence permit from the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Ireland.
- Your travel purpose is limited to tourism or short business visits — study, work, or long-term stays require a standard sticker visa instead.
- Your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of travel.
- You can demonstrate sufficient financial means, generally around USD 50 per day of your stay.

The Turkey eVisa is typically processed within minutes to 24–48 hours of a complete and correctly submitted online application. Applicants are still advised to apply at least a few days before travel to allow time for any issues with the submission, and should avoid finalising other non-refundable travel arrangements until the e-Visa is confirmed.
